Target Temptations | March 24

It should come as no surprise that Peanut and I frequent Target on a weekly basis. The fact that I can get all of my grocery shopping and my miscellaneous household shopping done in the same place is key when you have to get a kid in and out of a car seat.

Sidebar: WHY did no one tell me how annoying it is to deal with car seats? I am so sick of tug-tug-tugging to get everything tight enough and in the right position relative to shoulders, armpits, BLAH BLAH BLAH. And that's not even counting the kid who has learned how to master the back arch immobilizer move.  But I digress.

ANYWAY.

We go to Target a lot.  And I spend a good deal of time lusting over various products that I can't buy because we're trying to DEclutter over here.  So, just for fun, here are the things I'm currently lusting over. [Note: none of these are affiliate links.  I'm not that cool.]

Washi Tape.

Of course, Pinterest has a million uses for it, and I have no good reason to buy some, but it's still fun to look at.

Side note - they've started selling color-coordinated gum balls [$5] with the party decorations now.  This would have been so great to have for Luke's brightly-colored birthday party last year.  I also love the chic black and white party accessories they have now, especially these black and white polka dot paper straws [$2].

This Oh Joy! pitcher [$13] reminds me of the Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz.  I also become mildly obsessed with this spring green hue around this time of year (the website says it's aqua, but it's definitely not).

These black and white coiled rope baskets have been taunting me since they first came out.  I could really use some storage bins to throw all of the toys in...but that's just moving the mess from one pile to another.

This Frette bath rug makes me drool.  I would have taken this one home since it was on sale, but it looked like it had been sitting in someone's bathroom for a few days before being returned.

I can't find this tray online [$14.99], but if we had a backyard, I would snatch this puppy up for entertaining.  Love the wood insert.

I lovvveeeeee this star mirror [$34.99 I think?].  Like, hard core.  I can picture it in so many places.  Someone please buy this for me so I have an excuse to have it??

Let me tell you how much we need this arc lamp [$79.99] for over our couch.  Specifically, over my usual seat where I attempt to paint my nails.  I can't see a darn thing anymore!

And these chain bracelets and necklaces...le sigh.  I have been lusting over these for months, but I so rarely go anywhere that warrants more costume jewelry.

Someone tell me that I'm not the only one who lusts after Target stuff...please?

Spritz and Sprinkles

Today was a good day. 

Today, we danced around the kitchen in our pajamas, singing Christmas carols at the top of our lungs. 

Today, we made 3 batches of spritz cookies. Which, you know, is practically a million cookies. And we decorated them all. Luke's method involves pouring an entire bottle of sprinkles onto one cookie sheet. Hubs' method involved asking for tweezers to strategically place the candy cane sprinkles (true story).

Today, we delivered those cookies to our naighbors. We were welcomed in with open arms, and told stories of Christmas traditions of the past, where children are now, and of those that have passed on who are painfully missed, but joyfully remembered. 

Today, I was able to step back and realize just how blessed we are. A warm home, good music, an abundance of baked goods to share with those we love...and most importantly, a family to share these moments with.

A Rainy Stroll

Peanut and I took advantage of a rare 50 degree day this week to check out the Christmas decorations in town. Even though it was raining, he was pretty happy to finally take a walk for the first time in a looonnngggg time.

He wasn’t too impressed with the giant gingerbread man.

But, just like his momma, he loved the big tree.

He's not amused.

Mamma's not amused, either. This kid turned 9 months old today. 

Someone hold me. 

*Sniffle, sniffle*

A Post-Dinner Walk

Lately, we've FINALLY been blessed with nice enough weather to go for a walk after dinner each day. 

Sometimes, this also results in a trip to either A) the frozen yogurt shop, or B) the ice cream shop. 

Which totally defeats the purpose of the walk, but let's not go there. 

Peanut is obvs on solids now (in addition to his normal quota of nursing), so he's gotten hip to the fact that we're eating in front of him. And he doesn't approve. 

Luckily, a train went by and provided a distraction so I didn't have to share any of my blueberry ice cream (side note - how have I never had blueberry ice cream before?! It's flipping delish!). I did, however, fork over some pieces of waffle cone. 

Ah, well, it's only the beginning I'm sure. The kid will be downing cones of Blue Moon and running at me with sticky neon blue hands in no time.
